 PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF NUTRITION
The Philippine Association of Nutrition Alpha Omega Chapter is a duly recognized academic organization of the University of the Philippines Los Baños with its primary aim of promoting proper nutrition to the UPLB community as well as in other communities. The organization’s aim has been consistently achieved for twenty three years. The organization has also engaged itself in other activities for the growth of its members and for its development as a whole.
The organization is under the College of Human Ecology with no dependence of any financial support from the college. It acquires fund from different income generating activities like selling of foods, books, and nutrition student’s necessity like nameplates. It devises plans and put them into action independently.
It was established in the year 1947 by Mr. F. O. Santos to promote proper nutrition throughout in the campus and in the near community. It was federated by the mother chapter composed of professional PAN alumni in different chapters.
A big part of its plan is to have involvement in the community and to disseminate the knowledge of proper nutrition among communities. It is the only nutrition organization in UPLB and known to be the best in the field of nutrition.
The members of the organization consistently participate in every activity. They were encouraged and motivated with the help of team buildings. The help of leadership trainings and advisers guide the heads of the organization to lead their members well.
